2019 Woman of the Year

Berni Bishop Pirollo

Pittsburgh City East

Berni Bishop Pirollo, of Churchill, PA, was the recipient of this year’s Women’s Business Network (WBN), Woman of The Year Award.  This honor is awarded to one member annually and recognizes the individual who has best demonstrated excellence and leadership in her business or profession and in her service to the community and to WBN.

A graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science in Communications Media, Berni worked for several years in marketing and public relations before attending Pitt’s Graduate School of Public and International Affairs, earning a Masters in Public Policy Management with a specialization in Nonprofit Management.

One of her passions has always been for real estate, after working in Public Relations for Weichert, Realtors in New Jersey in the late 80’s.  She is currently a licensed salesperson with Berskhire Hathaway Home Services’ City Regional Office, where she works with buyers in all price ranges – from first-time buyers to those with over $1 million in purchasing power.  She has successfully listed and sold homes in all price ranges, within the City of Pittsburgh and surrounding suburbs.  In 2014, she earned her Seniors Real Estate Specialist (SRES) designation, by demonstrating the experience to advise clients age 50+ through transactions in relocating, refinancing or selling the family home.  In addition, she owns and manages B Bishop NPO Services, LLC where she provides management, fundraising, event planning advisement to local nonprofit organizations and small associations.

Berni joined the Pittsburgh City-East Chapter of WBN in 2016.  She served as Chapter Secretary, 2017-2018 Service Project Liaison, and is currently a member of the WBN Education Committee. When she is not working, she enjoys fitness activities, walking with her dog, Lola, and hanging out at PNC Park, keeping the faith in the Pittsburgh Pirates with her husband Tony.

This year’s Award was presented at the WBN Annual Dinner held on May 2nd.  WBN was founded in 1989 and has over 360 members in 22 chapters located across Southwestern Pennsylvania.  WBN’s mission is to provide personal and professional resources to advance the presence of aspiring and successful businesswomen.  For more information visit www.wbninc.com.
