2023 Honorees
Being recognized for your accomplishments is the best feeling, right?
At WBN, we present several awards annually to members for their good work in both their businesses and the community.
WBN Woman of the Year
Each year, WBN recognizes an outstanding member who has demonstrated excellence and leadership in her business or profession and in her service to the community and WBN. To be eligible for this award the nominee must be a WBN member in good standing for at least two years prior to the nomination date.
The WBN Woman of the Year demonstrates growth and development of her business or profession. She actively contributes to the success of other women in business through hiring, partnerships, subcontracting, etc. She regularly attends her chapter meetings, exchanges referrals, proposes new members, and supports WBN networking events. The WBN Woman of the Year also actively participates in community service, other women’s organizations, and professional memberships, sharing her leadership skills.
Each year the organization holds a call for nominations from the general membership for this honor, or members may nominate themselves.
Jean Walsh Scholarship
This annual $500 scholarship is awarded to an individual demonstrating how the money would be used for continuing education to grow her business. Members wishing to be considered for the scholarship complete and submit an application and must be a WBN member for at least two years.
Jo Luncher Service Award
The annual WBN Jo Luncher Service Award is given to member who exhibits service to, and participation in, WBN at multiple levels. For example: Serving as a chapter officer, on the WBN Board, committee participation, and general assistance and mentoring of the WBN sisterhood. Nominees must be members in good standing for at least two years.
Each year the organization holds a call for nominations from the general membership for this honor, or members may nominate themselves.
Rising Star Award
This award is specifically geared toward the next generation of leaders! It is designed to shine a light on members under 40 years old who show great promise, proactively participate in WBN leadership opportunities, and promote WBN membership.
Honorary Members
These members have distinguished themselves by meritorious service in the furtherance of WBN, its mission and goals. A member in good standing may be presented to the Board of Directors for consideration.
