2014 Woman of the Year

JoEllen Luncher (Monroeville Chapter)

JoEllen Luncher, owner of Anywhere Travel, was the recipient of the 2014 Woman of the Year Award. This honor is awarded annually to one member who has best demonstrated excellence and leadership in her business or profession, and in her service to the community and WBN.

Over the past decade, Jo has held various leadership roles within WBN. More recently, she has been the person who was instrumental in turning the concept of the WBN Regional Focus Events into a reality. These events have become quite popular, as they enable chapters that are located near each other to get together for networking purposes. She has also been involved in organizing WBN retreats, including the “unsanctioned” retreat held in February 2014, as well as coordinating the WBN evening at the Pirate Game, which will be held in June. When she volunteers to take on a project, she sees it through from start to finish and puts her whole heart and soul behind it. She believes strongly in networking to build her business and is also quick to share help with other women, especially those just starting out.

Since 2002, Jo has been the owner of Anywhere Travel Service, LLC, where she creates specialized vacations and travel packages for her clients. Her mission is to match a travel supplier’s product with the expectations of the travelers, while staying within their budget. She is a graduate of Community College of Allegheny County, with a double major in Hotel-Motel Management and Food Service Management. She also earned a certificate in tourism from the Boyd School of Travel. She has been a long-standing member of the Monroeville WBN Chapter, Co-Coordinator of Business Women Connect, Past-President of the Penn Hills Chamber of Commerce Board (2010, 2011), and Past Chair of the Economic Development Committee of the Penn Hills Community Development Corporation in 2011.

Among JoEllen’s biggest supporters are her husband Ray, and their three children and six grandchildren.

Women’s Business Network has over 400 members from Southwestern Pennsylvania and is a non-profit organization whose mission is to build an effective organization of women business owners and professionals committed to the integrity of performance and service, as well as, the creative exchange of business.
