Cheryl Hassell of Forest Hills, was the recipient of the Women’s Business Network’s (WBN) 2013 Woman of the Year Award. This honor is awarded to one member annually and recognizes the individual who has best demonstrated excellence and leadership in her business or profession and in her service to the community and to WBN.
Ms. Hassell graduated from Clarion University with a dual degree in Psychology and Sociology. Upon graduation she spent two years as a hotel sales representative and then worked as a leasing representative for shopping malls for 7 years. In 1994 Cheryl made a career change to the public system and became a social worker. She spent the next 11 years developing curricula and programming to educate the public on the incidence, severity and damaging consequences of living within a violent domestic abuse environment.
In 2005 Cheryl decided to create her own business and established White Glove Cleaning and Host Services of Pittsburgh, which is a residential and commercial cleaning company. As a business owner she strives to deliver comfort, peace, and joy to those in their homes, offices, and retail spaces. Her goal is to allow her clients the freedom to enjoy and create in clean surroundings. The hosting portion of her business began with the idea of providing that extra pair of hands at an event, allowing the host the opportunity to relax and connect with their guests.
Cheryl has been an active member of the East Chapter of WBN since 2007. She is also currently serves on the WBN Board of Directors. In her spare time she volunteers for Kopy Kat Sanctuary which helps to trap, rescue, neuter and release kitty cats, as well as provide foster-care, sanctuary and placement for non-feral felines.
Women’s Business Network has over 400 members from Southwestern Pennsylvania and is a non-profit organization whose mission is to build an effective organization of women business owners and professionals committed to the integrity of performance and service, as well as, the creative exchange of business.
