2008 Service Award
Congratulations go out to Judy Schafer of the Laurel Highlands Chapter who was the recepient of the 2008 WBN Service Award presented at the Annual Dinner held on May cialis daily dosage pharmacy 15, 2008 at the Scottish Cathedral in New Castle. She was chosen for her tireless efforts on behalf on “Angela’s Angels”, a local charity dedicated to providing prom wear to economincally disadvantaged junior and senior high school girls. She also was instrumental in helping to establish two of our newer WBN chapters, the Tri Towne and Northeast Westmoreland Chapter both of which are located in Westmoreland County.
Judy was also recently honored with several other distinctions. She was a 2008 Make the Connection Awards Honoree for her work and devotion on behalf of Angela’s Angels. She received proclamations from the City of Pittsburgh and Pittsburgh City Council and a commendation from the Pennsylvania House of Representatives. Judy was also named a finalist for this year’s “Athena Award” .
In addition to her volunteer work, Judy helps others in her profession as a certified massage therapist at Ewer Specific Chiropractic in Greensburg, PA. She offers Swedish Massage, Deep Tissue Massage, and CranioSacral Therapy, which is a light-touch manual therapy that addresses restrictions in the membranes and fluid that surrounds and protects the brain and spinal cord. She specializes in assisting patients suffering from migraine headaches, TMJ, fibromyalgia, and autism, as well as other muscle disorders, stress-related ailments and learnings disabilities.
