2010 Jean Walsh Scholarship
Dr. Brianne Kemp, of Wexford, was chosen as the recipient of the 2010 Women’s Business Network Inc. Jean Walsh Scholarship Award. She will be applying this scholarship grant to further her own business growth and development by attending two upcoming seminars on Communications Skills and will also be utilizing a portion of the award to set up a website for her practice that will also allow her to grow her business and also to partner with other local businesses to help strengthen the community.
Dr. Kemp is a graduate and class valedictorian of Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa. While attending Palmer she participated in the Clinic Abroad Program and spent time in Brazil providing chiropractic services for families in need, including many children. In 2005 she moved to Pittsburgh and in 2007 opened her own practice, Choice Chiropractic and Wellness Center which is located in Wexford. The focus of her practice is to help patients improve their health without the use of drugs or surgeries and lead an active, pain-free life. Her office is very active in the local community sponsoring various charitable projects such as food drives, collections for school supplies and holiday toys which are donated to the North Hills Community Outreach Center. She is also a member of the Women’s Business Network – Wexford Chapter.
The Women’s Business Network has been awarding this scholarship grant annually at their Holiday Breakfast each December since 1994 in honor of Jean M. Walsh who died of cancer. The scholarship commemorates the life of a woman who was instrumental in the establishment and development of the organization. Women’s Business Network has approximately 400 members from the Southwestern Pennsylvania area and is a non-profit organization whose mission is to build an effective organization of women business owners and professionals committed to integrity of performance and service, as well as, the creative exchange of business.
