2015 Service Award
This year the Board awarded the Service Award, not just to one, but two WBN members. This award is given to a member for greatly distinguishing herself by meritorious services in the furthering of WBN, its mission and goals. Both of these ladies have shown tireless service and belief in WBN and are each deserving of this special recognition. We congratulate the following members:
Margaret “Peggy” Bianchi received her Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Pittsburgh in 1975, and completed a Masters of Public Management at Carnegie Mellon University in 1995. She is currently co-owner and administrator of New Steps Rehab, Inc., an out-patient rehab facility located in the Rita Arms Plaza on Route 30 in North Huntingdon. Besides managing this facility, she is actively involved in patient care and provides specialty treatment for post-stroke , pelvic floor disorders and incontinence. She is also a certified Pilates instructor who incorporates Pilates into her treatment protocols for back and neck pain, as well as, teaching Pilates mat classes at the Rita Arms location. She believes in treating the “whole” body and meets the patient’s need by providing one-on-one direct care. In addition, she is an Adjunct Clinical Instructor in the Department of Physical Therapy at Duquesne University, where she assists with the performance of Matriculation exams.
Since 1997 Peggy has been an active member of the Norwin Chapter of WBN. She is currently serving on the organization’s Board of Directors as Corresponding Secretary. She is also active with her church, St. Agnes in North Huntingdon, and the St. Agnes Christian Mothers & Ladies Guild. In her spare time, she enjoys doing needle arts, golfing, snow skiing and spending time with her husband, Bill.
Donna Cheswick is a graduate of Duquesne University and has spent the last 28 years in the financial services industry. Currently she works as a Financial Advisor and Certified Divorce Financial Analyst (CDFATM) with Medallion Wealth Management Inc., located in Franklin Park. She offers a wide range of investment products and financial planning solutions to her clients and customizes investment strategies to meet their individual circumstances, risk tolerance and financial goals. As a CDFATMshe has assisted hundreds of divorcing indivduals and couples with the financial complexities related to their divorce. She helps clients and attorneys understand the financial impacts of alternative settlement proposals and provides data needed to support their case. Her real passion is writing educational articles related to financial planning and divorce for local and national print and online media as well as teaching monthly Divorce Workshops for Women. Donna is a trained Divorce Mediator, a member of the Collaborative Law Association of Southwestern PA (CLASP), a 2012, 2013, and 2014 Five Star Wealth Manager and has received the 2014 and 2015 Financial Advisor Women’s Choice Award.
Her involvement with WBN began in 2003 as a member of the Norwin Chapter. She also holds the position as the organization’s Public Relations Director, and in 2012 took on the additional role as Newsletter Editor. Donna has engaged in a variety of leadership positions with WBN, most recently acting as the chair to organize the 25th Anniversary celebration. In 2012 WBN honored her as the Woman of the Year.
In her spare time, Donna enjoys co-facilitating BusinessWomenConnect, a monthly women’s networking group and volunteering as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) volunteer for children suffering from abuse and/or neglect. Some of her interest include watching ice hockey, scrapbooking and designing homemade greeting cards. A lifelong resident of Western Pennsylvania, Donna resides in Penn Township with her husband, Dave. They have two college-age sons.
This year’s Service Award was presented at the WBN Annual Dinner held on May 7th. Women’s Business Network was founded in 1989 and has over 450 members in 29 chapters located across Southwestern Pennsylvania. WBN’s mission is to provide personal and professional resources to advance the presence of aspiring and successful businesswomen.
